Banking and Insurance Program
General Information
Banks and Insurances are the most important financial institutions of modern free-market economies. In addition to providing a large number of services in their fields, these institutions also have a social function due to the financing required by the companies.
Banks are basically institutions that collect deposits and give loans. In addition, to make money orders, to give letters of guarantee, to open letters of credit and to finance foreign trade, to make foreign exchange transactions; They also do things like manage portfolios. Today, banks have started to perform transactions such as options, swaps, and futures. Banks are divided into different types such as trade, investment, and development banks according to their jobs. We know that international banking has a very important role in the globalization process. The banker is a professional who has knowledge and expertise about these transactions.
Insurance institutions provide their customers with insurance in many different areas: health, life, traffic, earthquake, agriculture, natural disaster, accident, etc. in our daily life. We know that there are many types of insurance. Insurance companies have international dimensions as they work in a hierarchical order at the international level through a reinsurance application. The insurer is a professional who has knowledge and expertise on all insurance transactions and services.
The aim of our program is to raise individuals who have reached the level of modern banking and insurance, know current practices and prepare themselves for the sector.
Entry Requirements and Program Capacity
In order for students to enroll in the program, they must have obtained a sufficient score in the relevant score type and have a secondary education diploma from the university entrance exam organized by Student Selection and Placement (ÖSYM).
The capacity of the program is 50 + 50 = 100 students, all of which are normal and secondary education.
Graduation Conditions
In order for students to be successful in a course, the weighted grade point average must be 2.0 out of 4.0. Students are entitled to graduate at the end of 2 years / 4 semesters with the condition of completing 120 ECTS credits and 30 working days internship. Graduates who successfully complete the program by fulfilling all their requirements receive the Associate's Degree in Banking and Insurance.
Vertical Transfer Opportunities
Banking and Insurance professionals who have completed their associate degree education can transfer to the undergraduate programs of the faculties related to the Vertical Transfer Exam held by ÖSYM (DGS). Undergraduate programs that graduates of the program can transfer vertically;

Students who successfully graduate from the Banking and Insurance program can get jobs in both Public and Private Banks, as well as in the departments of the entire insurance industry, Freelance Accountants and Financial Advisors, all headquarters, and public offices.
